Picture yourself standing on a beach watching a beautiful sunset unfold before your very eyes. The aroma of the rolling mist mingles with the soothing rhythm of the gentle waves kissing the shore.

 

Here, vivid beautiful memories flutter by like free-flying seagulls, evoking distant moments of curiosity and life's boundless enthusiasm. But woven within this picturesque scene is a narrative of profound loss and mounting stress. Two years have passed since the wrenching departure of a beloved parent, compounded by a heartrending relationship breakup and the relentless burden of work.

 

Your world has shrunk, and social connections outside the workplace feel like distant echoes. The emotion of anger ebbs and flows unpredictably, while self-medication, in the form of alcohol and pain medication has become an unyielding companion. You acknowledge the descent into a whirlpool of despair but struggle to seek the help needed.

 

Trauma has a way of stealing your joy and takes away a world of possibility when not addressed in time. We all navigate the challenges of trauma, in one way or another. The wisdom and understanding that you need is being able to take that first step and open the door to getting assistance so that you can provide yourself with a richer, happier life. I am extremely fortunate to bring a host of therapy techniques to any of our counselling sessions. I have a strong understanding in how the mind may affect physical illnesses and look past the surface to delve into the depths of your life to unravel your unique journey towards healing and transformation.

As a trauma specialist with years of experience in the field, I will naturally assist you in dealing with you challenges around, depression, anxiety, anger and guilt as many of these painful emotion wills be routed in your initial trauma.

         

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

I started off my professional career studying Psychology at UCT. While completing an honours degree through UNISA I had the amazing opportunity to study Eastern Medicine with a European Professor and then a little later with a Grand Master that practiced traditional Eastern Medicine for over 5 years. One can say that I have spent a quarter of my life studying, which has enriched my perspective on emotional wellness.

The wisdom and understanding of ancient cultures taught me about our bodies innate ability to heal itself, the importance of the gut brain axis and the vital role that the human microbiome plays in maintaining our mental health. The ability to recover and heal both physically and emotionally is obstructed if the physical body is not assisted to heal itself.
